Finding Kindness...
I recently came across some postcards from a company called Life of the Kind.
(You can get them on Etsy or Amazon.)
They are inspirational messages, and I loved the idea of sending small kindness to my friends near and far. So, I've started mailing (yes! snail mail!) them to a few people every couple of weeks.
I know when I receive a random message, it always seems to strike right when I need it.
For example.... When I received my first package of postcards, this bonus one was included:
It is exactly what I needed.

Traveling to Wilmington, North Carolina
In a few weeks I will be hopping on a plane and heading to Wilmington, NC. The current home of my parents, I'll be spending a week with them.
I expect lots of exercise, pickle ball, and healthy eating, as thats what they like.
My first visit 2 years ago I visited quite a few breweries:
Then, last year my older brother Steven joined me and we really completed the list, visiting all those I went to on the first trip, plus:
- New Anthem Beer Project
- Edward Teach Brewing
- Ironclad Brewery
- Waterline Brewing Company
- Waterman's Brewing Company
Be sure to check out my Untappd reviews on all of the beers we tasted.
Coming in the next few days, I'll give you my reviews of the different breweries.

My next Food and Wine Event....
There is a publication called Houston Food Finder that has put together a charity dinner benefiting the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Houston.
They're calling it: The Perfect 10 Gala: a Showcase of 10 Houston Chefs & 10 Beverage Professionals.
(Tickets can be purchased here. Let them know I sent you.)
After a cocktail hour starting at 6pm, there will be a 5-course seated dinner with beverage pairings. So, who wants to go with me??

Should I Become a Certified Beer Server?
I recently returned from GABF, and I met someone who is a Beer Sales Rep for a brewery. He mentioned wanting to find a new job, so I started doing what I do best: googling.
One of the job requirements that kept popping up was wanting the candidate to be a Certified Beer Server. I had not heard of this qualification, so I did some research, and it turns out it is the first step in becoming a Cicerone!
Now, I know we all know that I enjoy beer. And I enjoy learning. And I'm looking to make a career of beer.
So, should I take the exam?
Should I start the process of becoming a Cicerone??

CES 2015!
Well, there is some good news.
Some REALLY good news.
I'm going to CES!
The Consumer Electronic Show has been on my bucket list for some time.
I am excited to see the new products and innovative technology that will be displayed.
Be sure to check back for pictures and my thoughts of the show!

Fitbit Versa2
Well, I fell victim to the lure of a new tech toy, and I purchased the new Fitbit Versa2.
This is funny because I currently have a Versa, so this was just an upgrade.
So far, I love it.
The battery life is longer. The watch face is clearer.
Overall, if you currently have a Versa, I would not upgrade. The differences are not significant enough.
However, if you're thinking about getting a new watch, I recommend this one.

Beer in Denver
I attended GABF and the Rare Beer Festival again this year, sampling over 150 beers in 4 days.
I also had the opportunity to pour beer for the Boggy Draw Brewery booth. It is so much fun to talk about beer with passionate beer lovers.
Be sure to see my pictures on Facebook!
